WATER DEPARTMENT: The City of Auburndale’s Water Department operates three water production/treatment facilities which supply potable water to 11,342 residential, commercial and industrial customers. Service is delivered through a network of pipping ranging in size from 2 inches to 16 inches in diameter.
WATER TREATMENT FACILITIES: The City of Auburndale has three water treatment plants which provide drinking water to our community. Our water supply is 7 deep production wells that draw water from the Floridian Aquifer. These facilities use a forced air degasification system to remove hydrogen sulfides prior to the addition of chlorine for disinfection and fluoride for dental health. These facilities distribute more than 1.6 billion gallons of water to our customers annually.
WATER DISTRIBUTION: The Water Distribution Team is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing all water meters, main lines and values in the water distribution system. On-call water personnel work 24/7 to respond to all water emergencies.
