LIFEGUARD
TEMPORARY POSITION - SEASONAL
MAJOR FUNCTIONS: This is responsible work monitoring
the safety of swimmers and sunbathers at the Auburndale Municipal Beach. Work is performed under the direction of the
Aquatics Supervisor and the Recreation Superintendent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Responsible for the daily safety of
swimmers and sunbathers and the enforcement of established rules and standards
of conduct at the Auburndale Municipal Beach.
May assist in the student swim classes.
Performs cleaning and maintenance duties in the water and on Municipal
Beach grounds (e.g., bathrooms and pavilions).
Performs other non-essential duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE: Considerable knowledge of water and
surrounding area safety and life saving techniques, including first aid, rescue
methods and artificial respiration. Must
have the ability to remain alert during long periods of time and the ability to
swim strongly. Ability to maintain
effective working relationships with City employees and the general public is
essential.
Possession
of a valid American Red Cross Advanced Lifesaving, Water Safety Instructor
(W.S.I.) or Life Guard certificate and a valid Standard First Aid and CPR
Training certificate. Possession of a
valid Florida driver’s license is required.

Municipal Beach, Ramsgate Avenue
WORK
SCHEDULE: Up
to 40 hours per week. Must be able to
work weekends and holidays, as needed
