My fellow Auburndale residents,

I would like to thank all of our citizens for the precautions they are taking to protect the health and safety of the community. The outcome of the COVID-19 crisis will be determined by how we follow the guidelines and steps to protect our community. The City of Auburndale has recently established a COVID-19 webpage on our site, at www.auburndalefl.com/EOC, with up- to-date information on facility closures, the status of planned events, and helpful guidelines to encourage hygiene and social distancing.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has advised that the best steps to protect yourself from being exposed to this virus is to practice cleaning your hands often and avoiding close personal contact with others or people who are sick. To help protect others, the CDC recommends that you stay home if you are sick, cover coughs and sneezes, wear a facemask if you are sick, and to clean and disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched daily.

The Auburndale City Commission and City Staff are committed to maintaining a normalcy during these historically challenging times. The City of Auburndale will continue to provide police, fire, water, sanitation, and other essential services in order to meet the needs of our citizens. The City has had to postpone or cancel a number of events and close a few of our facilities to follow the guidelines that have been recommended to local governments across our nation.

We encourage all of our residents, businesses, and visitors to follow the City’s website and social media outlets as we will continue to provide information and changes to activities happening in our great City. We ask for everyone to remain calm, be thoughtful of others and their health, and take the necessary precautions and steps to prevent the spread of this virus.

Sincerely,

Mayor Timothy J. Pospichal
