The City of Auburndale's Public Utilities Department is responsible for the distribution of water and the collection and treatment of wastewater from Auburndale and Polk County residents living within the City's utility service area. This utility service area measures over 60 square miles.  The city has 6 major industries that require special pretreatment permits to operate.  The pretreatment program began in 1988 and is mandated by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency).  Currently the city has 11,342 water taps and 7,067 wastewater taps in our utility service area.
