The City of Auburndale's Parks and Recreation Department provides the community with outstanding recreational facilities for youth and adult programs, including the City's state of the art softball complex, various community and neighborhood parks, baseball, softball and soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, racquetball courts, community museum, cemeteries, and the Municipal Beach and boat ramp. Further, the Parks and Recreation Department maintains various public facilities that are utilized to host senior programs, community functions, private events and lessons.

     "REMEMBRANCE TREES"

Auburndale residents are invited to mark a personal milestone this year with a living reminder….a shade tree in a local park.  Donors may choose their trees from lists created for each park.  Remembrance Trees can be used to honor birthdays, memorializing a loved one, weddings, anniversaries or community contributions.

SUMMER RECREATION

SUMMER CAMP IS NOW IN SESSION

KID CAMP TEEN CAMP

Join us for loads of fun with supervised activities, arts and crafts, two field trips per week, special events and much more! Field trips include Orlando Science Center, Fun Spot, Arabian Nights,  Tampa Bay Devil Rays, MOSI, Kissimmee Aquatic Center, Pied Pipers 101 Dalmatians, roller skating,   bowling, swimming and more!

Youth presently in 5th grade - 8th grade
Held at
Central Elementary School

Only teens looking for an exciting summer experience are allowed!  This program is filled with supervised activities, field trips and special events geared for middle school students!   Field trips include Wet ‘n Wild, Islands of Adventure, Orlando Science Center, Magical Midway, Typhoon Lagoon, Theatre Winter Haven, skating, bowling,  movies, swimming and more!

SUMMER PHOTOS

SUMMER SWIMMING LESSONS

Students will learn all the basic swimming strokes through these Red Cross certified classes.  All lessons are offered at the Auburndale City Beach.

Ages:  3 years and above

Classes Start July 7th @ 12 noon

Children will be tested the first day of class and placed in smaller groups based on skill and confidence level.  Register at the Parks & Recreation Office.

Auburndale Softball Complex

The Auburndale Softball Complex offers the best in championship quality playing facilities featuring Bermuda turf, large covered dugouts with water fountains and phones, Musco recreational lighting and ample parking.  All five fields, "Citrus", "Navel", "Tangelo", "Temple" and "Valencia" have 305' fences that are 8' high.  These can be adjusted to a 200' distance with a port-flex fence system providing for all kinds of softball action.  Large warm-up areas are provided.  A three-story fully enclosed covered playground is available for children.  The two-story press-box/concession building offers spacious restrooms, complete concessions services, media room, umpires room and scorekeeper areas with a public address system.

The Auburndale Softball Complex is located off of County Road 542 (K-Ville Avenue) behind the Auburndale Speedway on Florida Citrus Blvd.

ADULT CO-ED SOCCER LEAGUE

The Auburndale Co-Ed Adult Soccer League plays twice a year - once in the fall and once in the spring.  League is made up of teams with women being 18 years of age and older and men being 21 years of age and older.  The league is designed to be a recreational "fun" league.

MEN'S 3-ON-3 BASKETBALL LEAGUE

The Auburndale Men's 3-on-3 Basketball League starts in Mid-March.  Games are played at the Auburndale High School Gym.  Divisions include a 30 & over Open, 18 & over Open.  Cost of the league is $175 for the eight week league which includes a year-end tournament.  For more information or to be put on the mailing list call the Parks & Recreation Office at (863) 965-5545.

ADULT RACQUETBALL LEAGUE

Monday evenings this league plays off of Bobby Green Plaza.  The divisions offered are Open, A, B, & C.  This eight week league will be followed by tournament play.  Cost of this league is $25.00.  Call Richard Baker at 863-581-6735 for more information.

This open studio program provides students with  individual instruction in a  variety  of mediums.
Begins: Starts back in October
Day/Time: Tuesdays, 1:30pm to 4:30pm

Fee: $8.50 per week, payable by the month

CLOGGING
Both children and adults will enjoy learning this dance.
Begins: Ongoing
Day: Thursdays
Time: Starts at 6 pm
Location: Auburndale Senior Center
Ages: Youth and Adults
Fee: $25.00 per month $15.00 for each additional family member.
COUNTRY LINE DANCING
This class is designed for Beginning and Intermediate students.  Learn some new dances while having a great time!
Begins: Ongoing
Day: Tuesdays
Time: Beginners
6:30pm to 7:15pm
Beginner & Intermediate
7:15pm to 9:00pm
Location: Ariana Beach Clubhouse
