In that position, Shawn served as director and liaison between the City and the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), between the City and the Chamber of Commerce, served on the City’s Sick Bank Committee, and had total responsibility for the City’s Community Development Block Grant Program and Human Relations. He served with the City of Auburndale until accepting a position as Lakeland Assistant City Manager in 2016.
Shawn is a former Marine who served in Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia during Operations Desert Shield/Storm. He has an A.A. degree in Public Administration from Polk State College, a B.A. in Management from Warner University, and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of South Florida.
