Auburndale’s Location

Ideally located in Central Florida, situated 50 miles southwest of Orlando, and 45 miles northeast of Tampa, Auburndale provides ready access to a wide range of artistic and cultural resources. Auburndale’s neighbor to the east is Winter Haven, the home of Cypress Gardens. Lakeland borders Auburndale 10 miles to the west. You will find all of Central Florida’s main attractions within a 50-mile radius including:
BUSCH GARDENS, SEA WORLD, DISNEY WORLD/EPCOT CENTER, DISNEY-MGM STUDIOS, UNIVERSAL STUDIOS, and ADVENTURE ISLAND.

Business and Industry

The past 20 years have shown rapid growth in Business and Industry, including concentrate juice plants, fresh fruit packing houses, container manufacturers, mobile home manufacturing, paper box and plastic pipe companies, distilleries, farm machinery and trucking companies. Today the largest employers are Commercial Carrier (2,000 employees), Cutrale Citrus USA (750), Coca-Cola North America (225), Adams Packing Association (250), Colorado Boxed Beef (225), Bright House Networks (288), Fleetwood Homes (171), and KIK Products of Florida, Inc. (150). These and many other industries are located in four Industrial Parks. Polk County's Business Environment is one of the area's strongest attractions. The East Polk Committee of 100 is available to offer assistance to business interests in the area.

The Future

Paving the road to Auburndale’s future, the new Polk County Parkway was opened in the spring of 1999. As a result of the “Polkway,” business and industry is expected to accelerate to accommodate local business in the Polk Commerce Center; currently 7 million people reside within 100 miles of the intersection of the “Polkway” and I-4.
