About
Auburndale
At
first glance, Auburndale appears to be a quiet city
with “hometown quality.” A lingering look
reveals a firmly established, steadily growing community
with a population of approximately 12,000. Teamwork
abounds in every aspect-business and industry, education,
sports and recreation - the vital element is the spirit
of the community, and the community spirit is one of
Auburndale’s main attractions.

provides ready access to a wide range of artistic and
cultural resources. Auburndale’s neighbor to the
east is Winter Haven, the home of Cypress Gardens. Lakeland
borders Auburndale 10 miles to the west. You will find

Business
and Industry
The
past 20 years have shown rapid growth in Business and
Industry, including concentrate juice plants, fresh
fruit packing houses, container manufacturers, mobile
home manufacturing, paper box and plastic pipe companies,
distilleries, farm machinery and trucking companies.
Today the largest employers are Commercial Carrier (2,000
employees), Cutrale Citrus USA (750), Coca-Cola North
America (225), Adams Packing Association (250), Colorado
Boxed Beef (225), Bright House Networks (288), Fleetwood
Homes (171), and KIK Products of Florida, Inc. (150).
These and many other industries are located in four
Industrial Parks. Polk County's Business Environment
is one of the area's strongest attractions. The East
Polk Committee of 100 is available to offer assistance
to business interests in the area.
The
Future
Paving
the road to Auburndale’s future, the new Polk
County Parkway was opened in the spring of 1999. As
a result of the “Polkway,” business and
industry is expected to accelerate to accommodate local
business in the Polk Commerce Center; currently 7 million
people reside within 100 miles of the intersection of
the “Polkway” and I-4.
