WASTEWATER
PLANT OPERATOR
MAJOR FUNCTIONS: This is
technical work involving the daily operation and maintenance of the City of
Auburndale Wastewater Treatment Facilities.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Wastewater
Superintendent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Performs
routine lab analysis (e.g., sampling and analyzing) and implements process
control changes to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements;
sludge disposal; wastewater line maintenance and repair; minor equipment repair
and maintenance; and facility maintenance and landscaping. Performs other non-essential
duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of wastewater treatment facility operation and maintenance
techniques, landscaping equipment operation and occupational hazards. Ability to understand and
follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with
other employees is essential.
Graduation
from High School or GED and one (1) year experience in wastewater treatment
plant operations and maintenance is required. Applicants must have a valid
Florida D.E.P. Class “C” Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certification. Must have a valid Florida Commercial Drivers
License (Class B) or must obtain within 90 days.
