Business of the Month: Kersey Funeral Home

Kersey’s Funeral Home is being recognized as the June 2013 “Business of the Month.” The funeral home, which Walter Kersey started as a family business in 1950, is located in the former home of E.M. Baynard, one of Auburndale’s prominent businessmen from the early 1900’s and who constructed many of the surviving buildings downtown. The Kersey family, who used to live in the funeral home, have maintained the home in most of its original state, with the addition of adding a chapel and enclosing part of the front porch.
The City of Auburndale would like to recognize Kersey’s Funeral Home for their investment and commitment in the Auburndale business community. Also, to say thank you for the professional and compassionate environment offered to grieving families in our community.
